Sometimes it’s really not easy to know what is “really” unhealthy, because everything is full of trends and misleading information.

The most unhealthy foods that should be severely limited or completely eliminated from your diet:

 🥤 Sweetened beverages

(e.g. Coca-Cola, energy drinks, iced teas)

➡ They contain a lot of sugar → increase the risk of obesity, diabetes, fat in the liver.

 

🍩 Industrially processed pastries & sweets

(e.g. croissants from the store, cookies, candies)

➡ Full of trans fats, artificial flavors, sugar. They quickly raise blood sugar and do not fill you up at all.

 

🍟 Fried foods

(French fries, fried chicken, chips)

➡ Fried in old oils → trans fats + inflammation in the body + bad for the heart.

 

 🧂 Highly processed meat products

(e.g. hot dogs, pâtés, salamis, sausages)

➡ High in salt, nitrates, preservatives → linked to increased risk of cancer.

 

 🍞 White bread and white rice

➡ Very low in fiber → quickly raises blood sugar, no real nutritional value.

 

🧁 Margarines & artificial fats

➡ Contain trans fats → very bad for blood vessels and heart.

 

🍜 Instant pasta & soups from a bag

➡ Too much salt, flavor enhancers (e.g. E621 – MSG), no nutritional value.

 

 🥓 “Fast food” (fast food)

(e.g. burgers, kebabs, pizzas with lots of cheese)

➡ High in calories, few nutrients, high in fat, salt and sugar.
