Healthy Scalp
27.01.2025

A healthy scalp is essential for strong, shiny and healthy hair. The scalp is the foundation from which hair grows, so it needs to be nourished, balanced and free from problems such as dryness, dandruff or excessive oiliness.
With consistent care and the right routine, you can maintain a healthy scalp that will encourage the growth of strong, shiny hair.
Proper washing
- Regular washing: Wash your scalp with a mild shampoo to remove dirt, excess sebum and product residue.
- Don’t overdo it: Washing too often can dry out your scalp, while washing infrequently can lead to oil build-up and dandruff.
- Choosing the right shampoo: Use sulfate- and paraben-free shampoos that are gentle on the scalp.
Moisturizing and care
- Scalp oils: Natural oils such as coconut, argan or jojoba help moisturize the scalp and prevent dryness. Massage the oil into your scalp and leave it on for 20-30 minutes before washing it off.
- Moisturizing products: If your scalp is dry, choose moisturizers that contain aloe vera, glycerin, or panthenol.
Oil control
- Cleansing an oily scalp: Use shampoos for oily scalps or exfoliating shampoos that remove excess sebum.
- Avoid excessive touching: Touching your hair and scalp increases oiliness by transferring oil from your fingers.
Preventing dandruff
- Antifungal shampoos: Dandruff is often caused by the Malassezia fungus. Shampoos with ingredients like zinc pyrithione, ketoconazole, or selenium sulfide are effective.
- Exfoliating your scalp: Regular exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells and prevent dandruff from forming.
Circulation Boost
- Scalp Massage: A gentle massage with or without oil improves blood circulation, which helps deliver nutrients to the hair follicles.
- Natural Therapy: Warm compresses with oil or herbal extracts can further stimulate the scalp.
Proper Diet
- Nutrient Intake: Vitamins A, E, D and B-complex, minerals such as iron, zinc and selenium, and omega-3 fatty acids are important for a healthy scalp.
- Hydration: Drink plenty of water, as hydration is key to preventing dryness.
Protection from external influences
- UV protection: If you are often in the sun, wear a hat or use sprays to protect your scalp from UV rays.
- Avoid extreme temperatures: Cold air or hot dryers can damage your scalp. Try using lukewarm water and warm water when drying.
Preventing Itching and Irritation
- Avoid harsh chemicals: Hair dyes and other chemical products can irritate the scalp. Choose gentle or natural alternatives.
- Treat an itchy scalp: Use soothing products with tea tree oil, chamomile, or menthol.
Regular checkups and proper care
- Pay attention to changes: If you notice unusual hair loss, severe itching, or redness, see a dermatologist.
- Adjust your care to the season: Your scalp is drier in the winter and oilier in the summer, so adjust your routine to the weather.
