The most common causes:

⢠Excessive hand washing without hydration
⢠External influences (cold weather, cleaning without gloves)
⢠Stress or hormonal changes
⢠Dehydration (not drinking enough water)

š§“ Brittle nail care – tips and tricks
1. Oil, oil, oil!
⢠Use cuticle oil every day – almond, jojoba or coconut oil are top choices.
⢠You can warm it up slightly and massage it into your nails before bed.

2. Use nail hardeners
⢠Look for hardeners with biotin, keratin or calcium.
⢠Some also contain fibers that mechanically strengthen the nails.

3. Protect your hands when cleaning
⢠Always wear rubber gloves when washing dishes or cleaning with aggressive products.

4. Regular filing instead of clipping
⢠The file should be glass or ceramic, and always file in one direction.
⢠This will prevent microcracks.

5. Don’t overdo it with varnish
⢠Leave your nails “bare” for at least 1 week a month to let them breathe.
⢠Use a gentle acetone-free remover.
