Nail trends for 2026

2 min reading time

Nail trends for 2026 focus on a balance between minimalist elegance (driven by the “quiet luxury” trend) and bold textures and playful dimensionality.

Here are the main trends that will define manicures in 2026.

Quiet Luxury and Minimalism

The biggest and most enduring trend remains the sleek and clean look.

• Lipgloss Nails: A major trend where nails look like they’re coated in shimmering lipgloss. The key is in a sheer, milky or slightly pink polish and an ultra-shiny top coat. It’s a timeless and elegant look.

• Micron French: The classic French manicure becomes extremely subtle. The white border at the tip of the nail is ultra-thin, almost unnoticeable, creating a modern and minimalist look.

• Clean Girl Aesthetic: Nails are short to medium length, perfectly groomed, and painted in neutral colors like milky white, soft beige, or sheer pink.

💎 Textures and Dimensionality

Anything that adds depth to your nails is making a big comeback.

• Chrome and Metallic Nails: The chrome look remains strong, but it’s evolving. Instead of full-on mirror chrome, we’ll see subtler chrome tips or the use of chrome in combination with neutral bases (e.g., the ‘glazed donut’ look).

• 3D Details: In 2026, manicures will play with embossed elements – tiny pearlescent decorations, water droplets of gel, or delicate 3D waves on the nail. This is a more artistic and noticeable trend.

• Velvet Nails: Manicure powder or magnetic polish create a texture reminiscent of velvet. Nails change their appearance in the light and look extremely luxurious.

🎨 Colors and Shapes

Color and shape trends are bolder than in previous years.

• Nail Shape – Almond: The almond shape of the nail (slightly pointed but soft) continues to dominate, as it lengthens the fingers and looks extremely elegant.

• Colors – Red and Dark:

Classic Red: Rich, dark red and “cherry mocha” (a mixture of red and dark brown) are fashionable colors that add warmth and classic.

Deep shades: Dark green, deep navy blue (navy) and black are making a comeback for a more noticeable evening look.

• Color-Block French: The classic white tip is replaced by strong colors such as electric blue, bright green or neon pink, which is a more playful version of the French manicure.
