Basic or alkaline diet

2 min reading time

The alkaline diet (also known as the alkaline diet) is based on the idea that certain foods affect the body’s acid-base balance.

The goal is to keep the body less acidic and more alkaline, which is said to have a positive effect on health, energy levels, well-being and the immune system.

Ā

šŸ”¬ What does an “alkaline” or “alkaline” diet mean?

When foods are digested, they leave certain metabolic residues in the body, which can be:

• Acidic (e.g. sulfates, phosphates),

• Neutral, or

• Basic/alkaline (e.g. bicarbonates).

The alkaline diet encourages foods that create an alkaline effect in the body, regardless of whether they are inherently acidic or not (e.g. lemons taste sour but act as alkalis).

1. Start your day with lemon water.

3. Use herbs and spices instead of salt.

4. Drink more pure water and herbal teas.

5. Add alkaline supplements if necessary (e.g. spirulina, barley grass).

Ā

āš–ļø Important: balance!

An alkaline diet does not mean completely excluding acidic foods – the goal is balance, for example 80% alkaline and 20% acidic foods in the diet.
