🔹 Why is hand hygiene important?
Hands are the most common carrier of bacteria and viruses.
Improper hygiene can cause:
– infections,
– food poisoning,
– the spread of infectious diseases.
✅ When should we wash our hands?
– Before preparing food or eating
– After using the toilet
– After sneezing, coughing or blowing our nose
– After handling raw meat, fish or eggs
– After contact with animals or garbage
– After touching money, phones, doorknobs, etc.
🧴 How do we wash our hands properly?
1. Wet your hands with warm water
2. Apply soap
3. Rub for at least 20 seconds – between your fingers, under your nails, above your wrists
4. Rinse thoroughly with water
5. Dry with a clean towel or paper towel
👉 If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based disinfectant (min. 60%)
✋ Hand hygiene
– Keep nails short and clean
– No nail polish or artificial nails
– No rings, bracelets or watches
– Skin should be well-groomed and free of wounds
– Hands should be clean in appearance
🩹 What if we have a wound on our hand?
– Cover with a waterproof bandage
– Use a protective glove if necessary
