When the summer heat hits, we often feel drained and sleepy. The reason is that the body uses a lot of energy to cool itself, and heavy food puts an additional burden on the digestive system.

Topping: 1 tablespoon Greek yogurt, mixed with a little lemon and dill

When it’s too hot to chew, a smoothie is the perfect solution. This combination will hydrate you and give you an instant boost.
• Ingredients:
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup fresh spinach (a source of iron for energy)
1/2 frozen banana (for creamy texture and potassium)
1 heaped tablespoon Greek yogurt or protein powder
1 teaspoon ground flax or chia seeds (omega-3 fatty acids)
A few fresh mint leaves for garnish

• Ingredients:

Preparation: Spread hummus on a tortilla, add tuna, pepper and lettuce. Roll tightly and cut in half.

1. Don’t forget the salt: When you sweat, you lose not only water, but also salt (electrolytes). If you’re feeling tired, you can add a pinch of natural sea salt and a few drops of lemon to a glass of water.
2. Magnesium is key: If you’re feeling physically exhausted, include pumpkin seeds, almonds and dark green leafy vegetables in your meals.
