Peppers and tomatoes in a jar

- 2 kg of peppers (yellow, red, green)
- 2 kg of tomatoes
- 1 kg of onion
- 200 g of garlic
- 3 dl of olive oil
- 100 g of salt
- a spoonful of sugar
- chopped fresh basil
Wash, clean and cut the pepper into strips. Peel the tomatoes and cut them into cubes. Cut the onion and garlic. Fry the onion in olive oil (2 dl), add a teaspoon of sugar, then add chopped garlic and fry everything slowly.
Add the sliced bell pepper and fry on a low heat until it softens nicely. Then add sliced tomatoes, salt and cook until desired thickness. Check the taste in between.
Finally, add chopped fresh basil and olive oil (1 dl).
Pour the warm contents into jars and pasteurize or cover with a blanket.
