Apple puree (puréed apples)

Apple puree is a Slovenian dish made from boiled apples, which is popular as a dessert or side dish. It is a simple but delicious dish that you can prepare from fresh, ripe apples. Apple puree is a natural and tasty dish that is loved by both children and adults.
Ingredients:
- 1 kg of apples (preferably sweeter varieties)
- 2–3 tablespoons of sugar (depending on the sweetness of the apples)
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 bag of vanilla sugar
- a little water (for cooking)
- juice of one lemon
Peel the apples, remove the pits and cut them into small pieces.
Put the sliced apples in the pot and add a little water (about 100 ml, just enough so that the apples don’t stick to the bottom). Add sugar as needed depending on how sweet your apples are. Cook over medium heat until the apples are soft (about 15-20 minutes).
When the apples are soft, mash them or blend them with an immersion blender for a smoother custard. Add cinnamon and vanilla sugar and mix well. Pour the prepared apple puree into warm jars and pasteurize it.
So you already have a delicious apple puree, which you can use at any time as a side dish to milk rice, milk semolina or as a dessert, especially with the addition of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
