Cherry Smoothie

🍒 A simple, delicious and healthy cherry smoothie that you can make with fresh or frozen cherries. It’s a great summer refreshment, a source of antioxidants, and even a natural aid for sleep or inflammation – depending on the additions.

🥤 Basic Cherry Smoothie (serves 1–2)

🛒 Ingredients:

• 1 cup pitted cherries (fresh or frozen)

• 1 banana (for creamy texture and natural sweetness)

• 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or regular yogurt (or plant-based substitute)

• 1/2–1 cup almond milk, regular milk or water

• 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (to taste)

• optional: a few ice cubes

👨‍🍳 Preparation:

Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth, creamy. Chill with ice or refrigerate if desired. Serve immediately, you can sprinkle with some coconut flour, chia seeds or almonds.

💡 Variation ideas:

😴 For better sleep (evening):

• Use sour cherries (more melatonin)

• Add 1 tsp of flax seeds (calming)

• Use oat milk

💪 For post-workout recovery:

• Add 1 scoop of protein powder

• Add a handful of spinach for extra minerals

🫐 With extra fruit:

• Add blueberries, raspberries or strawberries

• Goes great with mango or peaches
